The City of Aledo is committed to creating vibrant, welcoming spaces that reflect the character and spirit of our community. Through the Aledo Public Art Program, the City encourages artists, property owners, businesses, developers, and community organizations to partner in bringing high-quality public art to locations throughout Aledo.

The program supports a variety of artistic projects, including murals, sculptures, artistic gateway features, integrated architectural art, temporary displays, and other creative installations that are accessible or visible to the public. Public art helps strengthen community identity, enhance public spaces, support economic development, and create a memorable destination for residents and visitors alike.

The City welcomes applications for public art projects located on public or private property. Projects are evaluated based on artistic quality, community relevance, visibility, durability, public safety, and their contribution to Aledo's unique sense of place. Applications will be reviewed by City staff for completeness and alignment with program goals. Projects will be reviewed by the Aledo Economic Development Corporation (AEDC), if projects involve matching funds or economic development incentives. Final approval for public art projects and related funding is made by the Aledo City Council.
