Get to Know: Candice Edmondson

Candice began her service as Aledo's City Manager in January 2026. A servant leader at heart, she is deeply passionate about public service and the role local government plays in shaping a community’s quality of life. As City Manager, Candice provides oversight and strategic direction for all city departments and services, working closely with the City’s Leadership Team to implement City Council priorities, promote citizen engagement, and deliver high-quality municipal services.

Candice began her public service career in 2007 as a Management Assistant with the City of Hurst. She joined the City of Southlake in 2010 as Assistant to the Director of Community Services and was promoted to Deputy Director in 2013. In September 2018, Candice joined the City of Richland Hills as Assistant City Manager and was promoted to City Manager one year later, serving in that role until December 2026.

Candice holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Texas. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including Urban Management Assistants of North Texas, the North Texas City Managers Association, the Texas City Management Association, and the International City/County Management Association. Candice has served in leadership roles on ICMA’s Government Affairs & Policy Committee and Assistant Chief Administrative Officer Committee and is currently serving on TCMA’s Advocacy Committee. She is also a graduate of the High-Performance Leadership and Leading with Purpose Academies.

Candice and her husband, Kevin, have been married for 14 years and are the proud parents of two daughters who love visiting their mom at work and attending city special events.
