Supporting Aledo’s Economic Future

The City of Aledo’s Type B Economic Development Corporation (EDC) works to attract, develop and retain businesses while supporting projects that strengthen the community and enhance quality of life.

The EDC partners with the City, local businesses, developers and community leaders to evaluate opportunities, support business growth and help advance Aledo’s economic goals.

About the EDC

The EDC operates under Chapters 501, 504 and 505 of the Texas Local Government Code and is governed by a seven-member board comprised of the mayor serving in Place 1 and six additional members appointed by the Aledo City Council. Four alternate members are also selected. Board members serve two-year terms and provide guidance on economic development initiatives, business opportunities and the EDC’s annual budget.
