Matt Poston was elected to the Aledo City Council to represent Place 3 in May 2026. He has lived in Aledo since 2019 but has lived within the AISD boundaries since 2013. He has owned and operated an insurance agency since 2001 and holds the ChFC, CLU and CASL designations. Matt has previously served on the Aledo Economic Development Corporation as well as the Aledo Planning and Zoning Commission where he served as Chairperson and worked closely with the Mayor, City Manager and City Staff to revise our UDC, zoning and sign requirements to keep Aledo the beautiful town that it is.
Matt is married with 3 kids, 2 of which graduated Aledo High School and all 3 being Arkansas Razorbacks. Matt has been married to Dawn for almost 27 years and they are both heavily involved in the Aledo community. Matt served 4 ½ years as a volunteer leader with Aledo YoungLife, 10 years on Aledo YoungLife Committee, currently co- leads a high school boys bible study as his church in Aledo and was a member of Aledo Baseball Booster Club and Booster Club for Aledo Athletic Trainers.
In his spare time, Matt enjoys fly fishing, hiking and playing golf.
