Nelson Rowls

Mr. Nelson Rowls was elected as City Council Place 4 on May 7, 2022.  This is Nelson's first tenure as a City Council Member, following service on the Aledo Parks and Recreation Board.  Mr. Rowls was appointed by his peers as Mayor Pro Tem on July 27, 2023.

Mr. Rowls worked for the City of Fort Worth Parks & Recreation Department as a Senior Recreational Programmer for over twenty-eight years. (Retired July 1, 2022)

Throughout his years of service in recreation he was able to witness the City of Fort Worth grow into a successful, prosperous, and productive place to live. Mr. Rowls was instrumental in developing programs in the field of recreation, education, culture, and wellness. The creation of these programs helped citizens live full and healthy lives, which translated to strong communities

Mr. Rowls is a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Incorporated and is an active member in his church brotherhood ministry. Councilman Rowls has been married to his lovely wife Lisa Rowls for nineteen years. They have two beautiful daughters Jaliyah (18) and Jadyn (14).
