Shawna Ford

Ms. Ford was first appointed to City Council Place 3 on July 28, 2022. She was then elected on May 6, 2023. Her term expires in May of 2026. Shawna and her husband have lived in the Aledo area since 2009 and in the City of Aledo since 2013. 

Shawna earned a bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice (before shifting to public education) and a Masters in Library Science, both from Sam Houston State University. She spent 31 years in public education as a teacher, librarian, digital learning coordinator, and education consultant before retiring in August 2023. 

Shawna has served the community as a member of the Bearcat Growth Committee for the 2019 bond for Aledo ISD and has served on the East Parker County Library Board since February 2022.
