Dissmissable Offenses

Expired Registration:  If the vehicle is registered and proof of registration is presented to the court within 20 days of the date of the citation issuance the charge may be dismissed  for a $20.00 dismissal fee.

Fail to Display Registration Sticker:  If the registration sticker is applied to the vehicle and photographic evidence is presented to the court within 10 days of the date of the citation issuance the charge may be dismissed for a $10.00 dismissal fee.

Expired Inspection:  If the vehicle is inspected and proof of inspection is presented to the court within 20 days of the date of the citation issuance the charge may be dismissed for a $20.00 dismissal fee.

Expired Driver’s License:  If the driver’s license has been renewed and proof of renewal is presented to the court within 20 days of the date of the citation issuance the charge may be dismissed for a $20.00 dismissal fee.

Fail to Display Driver’s License:  If you had a valid driver’s license at the time the offense occurred and present proof of said license to the court within 20 days of the date of the citation issuance the charge may be dismissed for a $10.00 dismissal fee.

Fail to Report Change of Address/Name on Driver’s License:  If the name or address on the driver’s license is updated with DPS and proof of updated license information is presented to the court within 20 days of the date of the citation issuance the charge may be dismissed for a $20.00 dismissal fee.

Defective Equipment:   If proof of defective equipment  repair in the form of receipts is presented to the court within 10 days of the date of the citation issuance the charge may be dismissed for a $10.00 dismissal fee.

Fail to Maintain Financial Responsibility (no insurance):    If you are able to provide proof to the court within 20 days of the date of the citation issuance that you had a valid insurance policy at the time the citation was issued the court may dismiss the charge at no cost.
