Solicitor Permit Application

General Information

Before Solicitation begins the applicant must submit for inspection by the City Secretary the following:

  1. Written proof of identity. ( driver's license or comparable)
  2. Identification letter from firm which orders are to be solicited.
  3. Application must be accompanied by a $5,000 Surety Bond signed by the applicant and Co-signed by a Surety Company authorized in the State of Texas.  This must be done for each agent.
  4. Once approved a license fee for Solicitation in the City of Aledo will be $500 annually per agent and must be presented in cash or money order.
  5. A fee of $100 must be paid for each additional agent registering at the same time as the applicant. Anyone registering alone will be required to pay the $500 per agent.

The process for a Solicitor's permit takes up to 3 weeks for completion.

These requirements are prescribed in the City of Aledo Ordinance number 43 and amended by Ordinance number 2013-026 passed and approved on September 26, 2013 by the Aledo City Council.
