Chief Carol L. Riddle brings over 25 years of frontline and command-level law enforcement experience to her role as the first Chief of Police for the City of Aledo. A Texas Master Peace Officer and proven public safety leader, she has spent her career building and leading high-performance teams in some of the most demanding areas of policing.

Chief Riddle began her service in 2000 with the Arlington Police Department, where she rose through the ranks over 21 years. Starting as a patrol officer, she advanced to undercover work in Vice and Narcotics, later leading the unit as a sergeant. In this role, she directed major human trafficking investigations across North Texas including operations tied to Super Bowl XLV. She also led Arlington’s DWI Unit and trained officers statewide in impaired driving detection.

As a lieutenant, she managed the Youth Services Division and oversaw safety coordination with the Arlington ISD. She was appointed project lead for a department-wide Records Management System overhaul including the transition to NIBRS reporting. Later, as SWAT Commander, she led one of the department’s most tactical and demanding units before her promotion to Deputy Chief in 2018 where she oversaw field operations across two major patrol districts.

In 2021, she was appointed Assistant Chief of Police at the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas and later promoted to Chief of Police in 2024, leading security strategy, daily operations and major system standardizations across a federal district.

In January 2025, Chief Riddle was selected to lead the formation of the Aledo Police Department. As Director of Public Safety and now Chief of Police, she is responsible for building the department from the ground up—defining its mission, policies and operational standards while selecting and training the founding officers.

She is a graduate of the Leadership Command College, the Senior Management Institute for Police and the Police Executive Leadership Institute. She also participated in an international policing study with the West Midlands Police in the United Kingdom and is certified in Firearms and Defensive Tactics instruction.

Chief Riddle earned a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Midwestern State University and a Master of Arts in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Texas at Arlington. She and her husband have been married for 20 years and are proud parents to their teenage son.
